Who I Am
I'm Marina L'Hoir Rossi, a French abstract artist based in Abu Dhabi. I paint under the name MMHC. I trained in jewellery design at École Boulle in Paris, and for more than 15 years I have worked as a creative lead. Today I'm Creative Lead at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi.

My artistic style
Before each painting, I light a candle and ask one question: what do I want this piece to hold? Calm, strength, light. Then I paint freely, without a plan.
On top of that first layer, I build a geometric structure, layer by layer. I call it Intuitive Geometry. Sand, stone or metal leaf sometimes come at the end, for texture and light.

Work for spaces
I think of each piece as a totem: a work that gives a place its presence.
For homes, hotels and restaurants, I adapt the format and the palette to the space, and I show a mockup before I start. Each piece is always a new, original work.
Why Abu Dhabi
The light here changes a surface hour by hour. Sand, stone and metal leaf react to it. That is why matter is at the centre of my work.
