What is Intuitive Geometry? An Artist's Exploration of Form and Feeling

What if a piece of wall art could do more than just hang on a wall? What if it could hold a feeling, shift the energy of a room, and become a quiet anchor in our daily lives? This is the question at the heart of my artistic practice as MMHC, and the reason I began to develop a concept I call Intuitive Geometry. It’s a personal philosophy and a creative process for creating fine art that I pour into every handmade canvas.

As a French abstract artist at the beginning of my career in Abu Dhabi, I'm not looking to make grand statements. Instead, I'm focused on a personal exploration: how can modern art become a tool for creating soulful interiors? My journey has led me to this fascinating intersection of structure and spirit, a space I’m only just beginning to map out. This article is my attempt to deconstruct this idea, not as a rigid manifesto, but as an invitation into my world, a world where logic and emotion are not opposing forces, but dance partners in the creation of unique abstract wall art.

The Two Halves of a Whole: Deconstructing Intuitive Geometry

The name itself is a paradox, and that's intentional. It’s the union of two concepts that our modern world often puts in separate boxes. But for me, they are the two essential halves of a meaningful whole. True harmony, in art and in life, is found not in choosing one over the other, but in finding the delicate balance where they meet.

The Geometry: A Language of Stability and Order

For me, geometry is the language of structure and balance. It's the silent, universal order that underpins everything, from the spiral of a seashell to the layout of a city. My background in design from the prestigious École Boulle in Paris gave me a deep and lasting appreciation for this world of lines, forms, and precision. It taught me that structure is not a limitation; it is a foundation upon which freedom can be built. This principle is a cornerstone of much of the 20th century's modern art, from the Bauhaus to the De Stijl movement, where artists explored the expressive power of pure form .

In my paintings, geometry provides the canvas with a sense of calm, stability, and intention. It’s the architectural framework of the piece. You can see this in the clean, foundational lines of my work Lalia, where the composition is held in a state of serene equilibrium.

This structure is the anchor. It’s the part of the painting that speaks to our logical mind, offering a sense of peace and predictability. It assures the viewer that even in abstraction, there is a plan, a purpose. It is the deep, reassuring breath before a word is spoken.

The Intuitive: The Soul of the Handmade Work

But structure alone is cold. A perfect grid can be admirable, but it rarely moves the soul. The 'intuitive' part is the spirit of the work. It's the unplanned mark, the gut feeling, the emotional energy that I pour into each handmade piece. It’s a process rooted in mindfulness, a quiet ritual of connection before I even pick up a brush. It’s about translating a feeling, not just an idea, onto the canvas. It's the freedom that breathes life into the form.

This intuitive element is the unpredictable brushstroke that breaks a perfect line, the spontaneous drip of paint that defies gravity, the subtle texture of sand that invites you to not just see, but to feel. In my painting Rhythm of the Deep, the underlying geometric structure is softened and brought to life by the organic texture of sand and the free-flowing application of copper leaf. This is what makes it textured wall art.

The intuition is the human touch. It’s the part of the painting that speaks to our emotional selves, our memories, and our inner landscapes. It is the word itself, spoken with feeling.

The Dialogue on the Canvas

Together, these two forces create a dialogue. The geometry holds the space for the intuition to express itself. The intuition gives the geometry a reason to exist. It’s a dance between control and surrender, between the known and the unknown.

This process is never the same twice. Sometimes, a strong geometric form inspires a burst of intuitive energy. Other times, a raw, emotional mark will call for a structured element to bring it into balance. My painting Nuqta, which translates to "point" or "dot" in Arabic, is a perfect example of this. It began with a single, central point - a mark of pure intention. From there, the surrounding geometric forms and textures grew organically, a conversation between that initial intuitive spark and the need for a balanced, harmonious whole.

This interplay is what, I believe, makes a piece of abstract art feel complete. It satisfies both our need for order and our desire for connection. It creates a work that is both grounded and alive, structured and free.

A Search for Soulful Spaces in a Modern World

Developing this practice as a French artist living in Abu Dhabi has been a profound experience. The unique light, the textures of the desert, and the dynamic energy of a city constantly looking towards the future have all found their way into my work. It's an environment that encourages a blend of heritage and innovation, which resonates deeply with my own process.

In a world that is increasingly digital and fast-paced, I believe we are all searching for moments of genuine connection and stillness. We are looking for ways to make our homes more than just places to live, but spaces that nurture our well-being. This is what I mean by “soulful interiors.” It’s about curating an environment that reflects your inner world and supports your emotional needs. The right piece of art for your home can be a powerful tool in this endeavor .

My goal as an artist is not to have all the answers, but to create works that invite questions. I want to offer a pause, a moment of stillness in a busy day. For art collectors in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, or simply for individuals looking to buy art to create a more intentional home, my work is an invitation to connect with that quiet space within themselves. It’s a reminder that balance is not about being static, but about the beautiful, ongoing dance between structure and freedom.

Ultimately, Intuitive Geometry is my personal language for making sense of the world. It's a journey of finding the balance between the seen and the unseen, the mind and the soul. And it's a journey I'm excited to share, one canvas at a time.
